Whim ‘n Rhythm is excited to announce auditions for the class of 2024! Whim is also proud to remind everyone that we are an all-gender SSAA group, and everyone, regardless of gender identity, is welcome to audition. Auditions will take place February 17th-19th in the Saybrook-Branford Room.
If you are planning to audition, we encourage—but by no means require—you to attend some of our Rush events!
Sign-ups for auditions are now live! Please sign up for an audition slot here. If you are running for Business Manager or Musical Director, be sure to sign up for two consecutive slots.
The audition will consist of warm-ups, ear training, optional sight-reading, a blending quartet exercise, a solo of your choice, and a short interview. For the blending exercise, you will be singing "Softly, As I Leave You," measures 1-17, in a quartet with current members of Whim. Please prepare a voice part of your choice - we suggest trying all four and choosing the one you feel most comfortable singing, even if it isn't your usual voice part. For your solo, please prepare a verse and chorus of any song you feel best shows off your voice.
We've provided you all with a Google Drive folder with MP3s, Midis, MuseScore, and Sibelius files to help you learn the part—let us know if you need any help downloading or using any files!

Whim's January Jelly concert (as opposed to our Jam in April) is a concert open to friends, family, alumni, and students! For more info, see our events page, and free student tickets can be purchased here!
Our Bagel Brunch is a more casual information session that will give potential rushees a chance to chat with members and recent alumni of Whim and ask questions, as well as enjoy some really delicious food from Olmo!
